| Soak pinto beans in water and salt in large pot for at least 2 hours or overnight. Drain. | |

| Cover beans with water at least 2 inches over top. Add the the rest of ingredients and bring to boil. Simmer for 1 to 2 hours, until beans are tender. Add water as needed to keep beans covered. | |
