    Ingredients

    • 1lb dry Pinto Beans
    • 1 quart Water
    • 3 tablespoons salt
    • 1 Onion, diced
    • 3 cloves Garlic, diced
    • 1/4 cup Bacon Fat
    • 2 tablespoons Onion Powder
    • Salt and Pepper to taste

    Note

    TIP: To prevent stomach gas, keep one of the garlic cloves whole .

    Directions

    Step 1
    Soak pinto beans in water and salt in large pot for at least 2 hours or overnight. Drain.
    Step 2
    Cover beans with water at least 2 inches over top.

    Add the the rest of ingredients and bring to boil.

    Simmer for 1 to 2 hours, until beans are tender.

    Add water as needed to keep beans covered.
